What does Miami's loss against Oakland mean?

TL;DR: Its Bad News, but at least we scored some points this week.

What does it mean? Well It doesn't look good that's for sure but let us see what we can break down and figure out what lies ahead for us Dolphans.

First the obvious. Yesterday's game (11/05/2017 for those from the future) ended 27-24 Oakland victory. That means Miami falls to .500 again at 4-4 and the Raiders improve to 4-5. Miami is still one game behind due to hurricane Irma forcing our game against the Buccs to be moved to week 11. We find ourselves in a bad position and even though last season we made it to the playoffs, we may not even go positive this season.

The Good News?
We scored points. I know it's a dumb thing to say but we got shut out by the Ravens the week before in a 0-40 slaughter, so being we put up 24 points and lost by only 3 is a step in the right direction if nothing else.

The Bad News?
Oh boy, where do I start. Let us start with the lack of Ajayi. We got one good run from Drake but still ended with only 86 rushing yards and still no rushing TD this season. I'm not saying that Ajayi would have done any better but he did get a TD on his debut game with the Eagles Sunday. That aside we need something to give on the ground or we will be in big trouble this month. Second point: turnovers! We are being sloppy with the ball and our opponents are capitalizing on our mistakes. Furthermore, we NEED to convert turnovers into points. Neither of those things happened in Sunday's game. I need to give props where it is due, we really only had one turnover, but Oakland turned that into a TD drive. Oakland turned the ball over twice yet we netted zero points to show for it.

To summarize, if Miami is going to redeem this season something has got to change. A breakthrough needs to occur. If not, well my fellow Dolphans, strap in cause it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
