https://soundcloud.com/boricua-phin/boricuaphin-podcast-001 Here is my first Podcast. Figured I'd try my hand at the medium and talk about last weeks game against the Buccs. All in all, I think the game went well. Despite the loss. It truly revealed who is the better Leader in the Dolphins locker room. Hint, it's not Cutler. Take a listen and let me know if you enjoy it!.

VLOG Entry#001

TL;DW We Suck. 45% chance to win. Here I talk about the upcoming game versus the Buccaneers. Overall I am expecting a loss. Sadly the dolphins have shown me zero improvements since Ajayi left and I can only assume it's going to get worse. It hurts me as a Dolphins fan but I have to be real and ultimately if you expect the worse, it makes the victory that much better. Expect a follow-up blog after the game on my assessment. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the video.

Running Game 2.0 (after the loss to the Panthers)

Image
TL;DR Definitely not convinced, we need to do better. 100yrds is not enough. Kenyan Drake had a break out run for 66yrds and a TD! That composed of exactly 66% of total rushing yards for the Dolphins. For those who are catching on, yes I am being sarcastic and yes we only had a total of 100 rushing yards. 17 attempts with an average of 5.9 yards per carry. That is just straight awful. Comparing it to our opponent, The Carolina Panthers, their QUARTERBACK... just wanted to emphasize on that, ran for 95 yards. Yeah, let that sink in for a second. Thier QB ran for just about as many yards as our whole team did in that game. They ended six bucks shy of 300 yards rushing. Add their 250 from passing and you can see why they put up 45 points against us. Our passing game was decent but not the best. Comparing the two teams the Panthers are a little better on total yards and yards per pass but we were not too far behind on the numbers. So you can safely say we got beat on the ground. Thi

Week 10 Grade Review for the Miami Dolphins

Dear Miami Coaches, Who You Trying to Convince?

Image
To: Miami Dolphins Coaching Staff Dear Coach, I need to ask you a question. Who are you trying to convince? After listening to both Adam Gase and Darren Rizzi it sounds like you guys are trying to convince yourselves that the Dolphins are a good team this season. I want to maybe put out some realities on the table and perhaps we can both look forward and stop kidding ourselves. First, it is blatantly obvious from our performance the last few weeks that Miami is not even half of what they were last season. Tannehill may have not been the best, but he was getting better and at this point, I think we all can agree we miss him on the field. He is a better QB than Cutler. Sorry to hurt your feelings coach but it is a reality. Second, we do not have a run game. I will level with you and hold out another week to see if Kenyan Drake has a breakout week but chances are that Carolina is not gonna to allow that to happen. Can we also take a side note here and maybe get an answer to why? Wh

Coach Gase likes the new running game, but should we?

Image
TL;DR I don't think so coach, let's see what happens next week. Coach Adam Gase says he is optimistic about the new run. Even though we still have no rushing TD yet for the season and we just lost to the Raiders. However, there were reasons for optimism in a breakout run and overall decent yards per carry in said game. The questions stands, should we be optimistic? Like always let us look at the facts. Reality is we lost... but I am going to look deeper into the stats, specifically, how Oakland's run defense holds up. They rank 27th. For comparison, Miami ranks 7th. So looking at this games rushing yards is not an accurate measurement of skill. Diving a bit deeper into the stats you can figure out that they allow around 116yrds rushing per game (94yrds allowed for the Phins). These figures don't give me much optimism when you start looking at what other strong run offenses have done against the Raiders. Using the Ravens as a mutual opponent comparison you can see

What does Miami's loss against Oakland mean?

Image
TL;DR: Its Bad News, but at least we scored some points this week. What does it mean? Well It doesn't look good that's for sure but let us see what we can break down and figure out what lies ahead for us Dolphans. First the obvious. Yesterday's game (11/05/2017 for those from the future) ended 27-24 Oakland victory. That means Miami falls to .500 again at 4-4 and the Raiders improve to 4-5. Miami is still one game behind due to hurricane Irma forcing our game against the Buccs to be moved to week 11. We find ourselves in a bad position and even though last season we made it to the playoffs, we may not even go positive this season. The Good News? We scored points. I know it's a dumb thing to say but we got shut out by the Ravens the week before in a 0-40 slaughter, so being we put up 24 points and lost by only 3 is a step in the right direction if nothing else. The Bad News? Oh boy, where do I start. Let us start with the lack of Ajayi. We got one good run f

Dolphins vs Raiders - No Ajayi, Yes Cutler. Win??

Image
This Sunday at the Hard Rock Stadium the Miami Dolphins will host the Oakland Raiders at home. What has changed from our 0-40 embarrassment against the Ravens last Thursday? Ajayi is gone and Cutler is back. Is that good or bad? Well...Let us take a look at how the Dolphins have done this season so far and maybe we can answer that. What we won't have? Ajayi run stats for this season: Attempts: 138 Yards: 465 Average: 3.4 yards Longest: 21 yards TD's: 0 Ajayi receiving stats for this season: Received: 14 Yards: 67 Average: 4.8 yards Longest: 15 yards TD's: 0 As you can see, not so impressive this year as last year. His replacement is of concern due to his lack of experience. with only 10 attempts this season there is not a lot to go off of. This will definitely be a make or break for Kenyan Drake. Looking towards under center we can expect to see Cutler back. Leaving my personal opinions to the side lets look at his numbers compared to Moore'
