Should the Dolphins attempt to get Eli Manning?

It's a tantalizing thought. From the fiasco we have encountered this season it would stand with reason that we would consider it. But is it the right move?

Albeit this is all just theoretical and opinions since we are not sure what the future has for Eli Manning (younger brother to the legendary Peyton Manning) but its fun to speculate so let's dig into it!

First, lets look at our current situation: Cutler, Moore, and Tannehill.

Cutler has proven to be a bust. with less than 1% chance of getting into the playoffs we are more likely to get a top 10 pick in the draft (60%) than make a playoff run. He was not the answer we needed.
Moore? Well, he is not consistent. Think back if you can to the Chad Henne days. he had his moments of glory but failed in consistency. somedays he was amazing, other days he was highschooler quality. Moore is in that same boat. Though I do believe Moore is a far better QB than Henne he still lacks in consistency. when he comes in as a backup he does great things, put him as a starter and he can't produce the same results. Simply put he is a great backup but a horrible starter.
Tannehill? Interestingly he has gotten better over the years. He wasn't the SuperBowl bound star we wanted but by no means was he bad. he led us to winning seasons and a playoff appearance. I know I know, you say Moor won the last few games for us but you have to take into account that Tannehill won 8 and set us up to be in a position for a wildcard slot in the first place. HOWEVER, all that said I am not sold on Tannehill. His inability to win close games and injury prone history it just doesn't seem he is the QB we need. For now or the future.

Now let us talk about Eli. 2-time SuperBowl winner, 14 year Giants veteran he has proven himself amongst some of the best QBs in the league...BUUUUUUUUT he also is one that has struggled the most. His tenure in New York is actually in the negative when it comes to win/loss record and let's be real, the Giants haven't been all that great in recent years. However what Eli does bring is the ability to perform in must-win situations, something Tannehill fails at. Year after year. When Eli finds himself in a must-win situation, he wins, gets into the wildcard on a prayer, then goes and beats the Patriots in the SuperBowl. It's easy to see why any team, regardless of QB needs would play around with the thought of acquiring the younger Manning brother.

Given what is at odds here I am on the fence. a good 50-50 for and against. I wouldn't be mad if we got him, but wouldn't be mad if we didn't get him either. Only time will tell if the dolphins decide to try and get him. But I would be lying if I wouldn't be excited to see a 2-time SuperBowl champion under center for the Dolphins!
